Which browser works best for the Music2Deal website?
Music2deal has been optimized to work best on the “Internet Explorer” and “Mozilla Firefox”. If you have problems, please make sure you are using the latest updates.
For Mac Users:
If you use “Panther OS X” (10.3) or “Safari” you might experience compatibility problems with music2deal. In this case please use another browser.
Why do I have problems with uploading music or pictures?
Music files can only be uploaded in mp3 format. Please make sure to meet the following specifications: 128kbit, 44kHz and constant bit rate.
Pictures have to be at least 640 x 480 pixels big. Please adapt to this aspect ratio also when uploading bigger pictures, otherwise your picture might appear deformed.
Both, mp3 and picture files, must not be bigger than 5 MB.
First login into your MY MUSIC2DEAL, click on “Music Offered” in the menu on the left and than click on “Mp3 Upload”.
After one further click on “New mp3” you can choose the song on your PC and upload it.
When the upload has finished, you can create a new song profile for the track.
You can do this by clicking “Songs Offered” // “New song”.
If you want to upload a new track which you want to offer for licensing just follow the same procedure as described above. The only difference is that you have to choose “New Licensing” when creating the profile for the track.
Adding music to your profile is the easiest and most effective way to improve your Success Rate. Your songs will be promoted on the website and in the newsletter which is going to draw more visitors onto your profile automatically.
How to upload a picture:
To upload a new picture for an artist, go to “Music Offered” and click on the artist’s name to edit the profile.
Keep in mind:
Music files have to be in mp3 format (128kbit, 44kHz, constant bitrate).
Pictures and mp3 files must not be bigger than 5 MB.
Where can I find information about the different types of memberships?
You can find detailed information about our different membership models when you click on “Fees” in the navigation bar on the top. If you are logged in already you can also click on “Fees & Invoices“ in you’re MY MUSIC2DEAL.
After logging in, click on “Business Offered”. Here you can edit and update your contact information and your business data. The actuality and completeness of your profile have a great impact on your Success Rate – because of that you should always keep it up-to-date and provide as much information as possible. Besides you should definitely add a picture to your profile. It’s a matter of fact that profiles with picture attract far more visitors than profiles without picture.
Hint: The more information you provide in your profile, the more often you will be found by search queries of other users.
Music2deal agents are very useful tools that can inform you via email about new songs, artists or business contacts that appear on music2deal.
To set up an agent, first login to your MY MUSIC2DEAL. Click on „Music Agent“ and then on „New Music Agent”. On the following site you can choose the area of music2deal which the agent should inform you about. Depending on which area you choose (Business, Songs, Licensing…) more customization options will appear by which you can specify your agent even further (Territory, Genre, … ).
The more agents you set up for your profile, the higher will your success rate be.
Hint: Many members use an extra email address for the notifications of their m2d agents
How do I use the m2d email system?
First login to your MY MUSIC2DEAL, click on “Music2deal Email” and then “Compose new mail”. When writing an email you can either choose to send it to music2deal members (which you have saved as favorites), to external contacts, or to whole groups. By clicking on the arrows you can choose the selected contacts as recipients for your mail.
Hint: With the m2d mailing system you can address other m2d users and external contacts as well – at the same time and using personal salutations if you want to!
This is possible by using our so called Smart Mailing system.
By using the placeholders %annotation%, %companyname%, %firstname% and %lastname% you can personally address all the recipients. In the final emails the placeholders will be replaced by the correct terms of each contact.
Your activity within the m2d email system has a large influence on your Success Rate.
The more people you get in touch with, the faster you will be able to make that one important business contact that can make the whole difference.
How can I cancel my membership?
Basically you have to cancel your membership one month before your contract expires. Otherwise it will be renewed automatically. To cancel your contract, just send us a short email to info@music2deal.com
I forgot my password. What can I do?
You forgot your login data? Below the login field there is a “forgot password” button. After entering your email address your login data will be automatically sent to you.
How can I subscribe / unsubscribe to the newsletter?
On the left side of music2deal.com you can find the button “Subscribe to the music2deal free newsletter”. Here you can subscribe or unsubscribe for our newsletter. As a registered member you don’t need to subscribe as you will get the newsletter automatically.
How do I search efficiently?
Let’s assume you are searching for a song:
To achieve a reasonable amount of search results, you should specify your search using different criteria. For example, if you are looking for a fast rock song that spreads good mood, you should use the criteria genre “rock”, tempo “Up-Tempo” and mood “cheerful” or “happy”. More possible criteria are for example status, lyrics, sounds like … or voices.
While specifying your search, keep in mind that there are “main genres” and “sub genres”. For example the “main genre” Pop divides into several “sub genres”, such as Pop Ballad or Pop Dance. Considering this you can arrange your search very precisely and efficiently.
What does “listed” on the stats page mean?
The word “listed“ may appear in your stats together with words like “heard“. To make it simple: “listed” means that a user had your song on his list but didn’t actually listen to it. Once the user listens to it, it shows up on your stats page as “heard”.
What are „Member News“and how can I use them?
With the member news we provide you a tool, with which you can keep the other users up to date about what is going on with you and your work.
To write a member news, login to your MY MUSIC2DEAL, click on “Member News” and “Publish your recent news”. On the following page you can choose the territory in which the news should be published and write your text. The more member news you release, the more people will become aware of you and the higher your Success Rate will be.

The actuality and completeness of your profile has a very big impact on your Success Rate.

4. Extent of Rights
4.1. MEMBER transfers all necessary rights for the fulfillment of this contract to music2deal.com and its operating company, music2deal e.K.,. This includes:
(i) the partial or complete use of sound recordings in databases or datanets (i.e. internet, www, etc.), feeding into databases or nets, saving, distributing and making them available to users of databases/nets through cable or other media of transmission for acoustic/visual perception and/or duplication.
(ii) the right to advertise and "bracket part analysis" (i.e. the authorization to use parts of the music2deal.com presentation, including the use of the name and picture of the title provider, for advertising purposes). The use of music however is only possible under the prerequisite of the MEMBER´s agreement.
4.2. MEMBER is responsible for:
(i) the provided material not being restricted in terms of copyright, or to violate others rights.
(ii) that the compositions and texts/lyrics do not contain any material which is offensive, obscene or in any way illegal;
(iii) that the data which is being uploaded to the music2deal.com website or provided otherwise to us does not disturb our website or data, nor the computer or data of our customers and users, that it does not contain any viruses and is technically sound.
How do I administrate my contacts and groups?
Within the “Music2deal Email” topic you can find the sub item “contacts”. Here you can add and edit new contacts to your address book or delete already existing contacts.
By using contact “groups” you can comfortably send your mails to as many contacts as you want.
By using the feature “My Wanted” in your MY MUSIC2DEAL, you can create and publish individual requests for whatever you are looking for (business contacts, songs, artists, …). These “Wanteds” will be promoted on different locations of the website and in our weekly newsletter. While creating your wanted you can enter several specifications such as territory, age or sex (if you are looking for a singer).Publish “Wanteds” on a regular basis in order to improve your Success Rate. Nevertheless you should only use this feature when you are really looking for something. Inappropriate “Wanteds” will be deleted by our team.
